Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Global Cerah empowers groups that are underrepresented in the climate movement, particularly small-scale farmers from rural and indigenous communities, while actively encouraging women and youth to participate in sustainable agriculture and climate solutions. Our circular economy model integrates these communities directly into the value chain by turning agricultural waste into economic and environmental value. We promote gender and youth inclusion by offering equal employment and leadership opportunities across our operations and by using robotic process automation (RPA) to reduce physical labor barriers traditionally associated with waste management and farming. This makes participation more accessible for women and young people who may otherwise be excluded from the sector. Through targeted training and capacity-building programs, we equip farmers, women, and youth with technical, digital, and operational skills related to waste recycling, alternative feed production, and organic fertilizer use. Today, women represent a significant share of our supply-chain workforce, including individuals from indigenous and rural backgrounds. By empowering these groups, Global Cerah supports economic resilience, revitalizes interest in farming among younger generations, and ensures inclusive, community-driven climate action.
