Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

I will draw parallels with another project which is otherwise underway. That project, with a total capital cost of $2M is going to provide a $100k value of labour-work income to underrepresented unskilled labourers who will be helping us in land preparation, berm formation and laying out the microalgae ponds and the process building. Furthermore, once commissioned, this project will employ about 12 un-skilled helpers (labourers) for steady-state operations, in addition to 12 semi-skilled operators for manning the machinery and for other activities including sampling etc. Finally, the ~7,000 litres per day of Biostimulant generated through this circular project will be used by tens of thousands of farmers who typically own 1-2 acres of agricultural land individually. Our Bio-stimulant will be much less expensive that the imported ones, while being much more effective too.

In this project, similar economic impact can be expected but at slightly higher scale (10 acres instead of 7 acres) and hence other impact going up too at proportionate levels. Finally, the project discussed in this proposal is at a Dairy plant which caters to dairy farmers. And we have studied adequate reported literature on how chlorella vulgaris (microalgae) based feed supplements can benefit dairy cows.
