How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
When it comes to onboarding women to our solution, we are facing some significant challenges, which are also driven by the composition of the Moroccan farmer landscape. A very high portion of farmers in Morocco are male, so male farmers are also significantly overrepresented in our customer base. Despite this, we are trying to do our best to win more female customers. To support these efforts, we have also included a more favorable scoring of female farmers in the risk scoring tool we are using to score the risk of potential participants of our TAKAMOUL solution. When it comes to the engagement of women, we have achieved a very good proportion for Moroccan standards, with an employment rate of women in our workforce lying around 40 percent. Through our activities within the African agricultural sector, we are also providing employment options to Moroccan youth. Most people join our company after graduating, so we are significantly contributing to integrating Moroccan youth into the labor market by being their full-time employer. We are also providing a very diverse range of employment options both for urban university graduates and less qualified persons living in rural areas.
Mission Statement:
We are developing solutions helping African farmers get access to the operations of their farm and optimize their farming. With the services provided, we ensure that farmers can get easier access to finance, markets, and input factors, and can become more resilient to climate change.
