Project Summary / Description:
TGECA launched the Green Well 100+ (GW100+) Initiative in 2021, aiming to achieve 100 green energy charity actions by 2030. The GW100+ Initiative includes three innovative solutions to advance a just energy transition: the Green Energy Charity Model, the Green Electricity Charity Model, and the Carbon Reduction Charity Model. Through donations from companies and the public, we help social welfare organizations install solar power systems or replace energy-intensive equipment. As of 2024, the GW100+ Initiative has completed 50+ green energy charity projects, installing 2,052 kWp of solar photovoltaic systems and benefiting over 13,000 children, elderly people, and individuals with disabilities.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
TGECA’s mission is to "empower everyone for an equitable and sustainable future." Under the leadership of our founder, Dr. Hui-Ping Chen, our board is 66% female, including representation from Indigenous communities. Through GW100+ Initiative, we bridge the gap between renewable energy and vulnerable communities. By installing solar PV systems for those in need, we have provided sustainable green energy revenue and improved living conditions for over 13,000 vulnerable individuals, including children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Since 2024, TGECA has expanded its focus to include green skill-building and climate education specifically designed for women and young girls. Our core empowerment programs include: (1) Female Energy Auditors & Community Power Plant Planners: Training women to participate and lead energy transitions within their local neighborhoods. (2) Climate Girls Empowerment Camps: Cultivating the next generation of female climate leaders. (3) SDG SHEROs in Action: We have unified all trained women and girls into the "SDG SHEROs" group, a collective dedicated to continuous climate action. In 2025, we further amplified this impact by leading five young women to global climate stages, including New York Climate Week and COP30. To date, we have empowered over 250 women to become Changemakers.

Mission Statement:
The GW100+ Initiative advances a just energy transition through three models: Green Energy Charity, Green Electricity Charity, and Carbon Reduction Charity. These approaches help vulnerable communities and social welfare organizations install solar power, use green electricity, and improve energy efficiency, thereby reducing carbon emissions and supporting long-term sustainability.
