How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The project primarily empowers rural, climate-vulnerable smallholder farmers who are often underrepresented in climate decision-making despite being highly exposed to climate risks. By working at the village level, the project enables farmers to become active agents of climate mitigation rather than passive recipients of policy or enforcement. Women farmers and youth are intentionally included in training sessions, composting activities, and peer-learning groups, increasing their participation in sustainable farming decisions. The organization’s field teams are drawn from local communities, ensuring cultural relevance and trust. This local representation strengthens farmer engagement and helps elevate rural voices within broader climate conversations. By prioritizing knowledge transfer, leadership development, and farmer-to-farmer learning, the project builds long-term capacity within underserved agricultural communities to adopt and sustain climate-positive practices.
