How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project places youth and climate-vulnerable communities at the center of the energy transition in West Bali National Park. We empower youth from the six buffer villages by training them as technical energy ambassadors and "O&M" teams for our solar grids and electric boat systems. This provides critical green skills and long-term employment in their local community. We specifically target the tour boat groups, transitioning them from fossil-fuel dependence to clean marine mobility, which significantly lowers their operational costs and eliminates their exposure to toxic fuel leaks. Additionally, we empower women in the buffer villages to transition into professional ecotourism roles, leveraging our literacy programs to turn conservation data into sustainable livelihoods. Within our organization, these groups are not just beneficiaries but leaders. Our leadership team reflects this commitment: we are a youth-led foundation, and our Outreach Manager, Ni Putu Mas Swandewi, spearheads our engagement with women and local stakeholders to ensure our climate solutions are inclusive and community-driven. By bridging the gap between climate data and local action, we ensure that those most vulnerable to climate impacts are the ones driving the solution.
