Project Summary / Description:
Agri Predict AI is a climate-smart agriculture initiative that uses AI and predictive analytics to help farmers optimize planting decisions, reduce input overuse, minimize crop losses, and improve resilience to climate risks. By enabling data-driven farming, the initiative supports emissions reduction, resource efficiency, and sustainable agricultural practices at scale.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project actively empowers women farmers and those from rural, underdeveloped communities with low-income backgrounds, who are often underrepresented in climate initiatives. These groups face barriers to accessing climate knowledge, sustainable farming technologies, and decision-making platforms that impact their livelihoods. We address this by providing low-cost, accessible training and support tailored to their needs, ensuring that women and marginalized farmers can implement sustainable agricultural practices without financial burden. Our AI-driven platform delivers actionable recommendations in simple, locally relevant formats, making adoption feasible for small-scale and low-resource farmers. Within our organization, women play active roles in research, community engagement, and marketing, ensuring diverse perspectives in project design and outreach. We collaborate closely with local cooperatives and community leaders to create inclusive participation, enabling these farmers to gain knowledge, improve productivity, and actively contribute to reducing GHG emissions. By prioritizing women and rural farmers in both project design and implementation, we not only enhance equity in climate action but also strengthen the effectiveness and scalability of our solutions, ensuring that the benefits of climate mitigation reach those most vulnerable and historically underserved.
