Project Summary / Description:
Novadaur is a verified impact marketplace designed to accelerate decarbonization in the Global South, launching first in India. The initiative addresses a critical market inefficiency: while electric vehicles (EVs) in emerging markets often offer lower total ownership costs, mass adoption is stalled by information barriers and "affordability myths". Novadaur solves this by capitalizing on a "marketing arbitrage," utilizing the fact that digital advertising in the Global South is approximately 60x cheaper and converts 5x–6x higher than in US markets. The platform bridges the gap between digital intent and physical action. It educates high-intent buyers and connects them to vetted dealers using targeted incentives. Uniquely, Novadaur employs a "closed-loop" verification protocol. By using AI-driven OCR to validate government registration certificates, the platform confirms physical sales and attributes specific carbon reductions to digital interventions. This system provides the missing "verification layer" needed to unlock global climate finance for retail decarbonization, aiming to abate millions of tonnes of CO2e while economically empowering under served drivers and households.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Novadaur empowers the "invisible" workforce of the Global South—urban gig workers, rickshaw drivers, and youth—who are disproportionately vulnerable to both climate change and economic instability. These groups often spend a significant percentage of their daily earnings on fossil fuels. By dismantling information barriers and financial hurdles to EV adoption, we help these low-income earners slash their daily mobility costs by ~80%. This massive reduction in operating expenses translates directly into higher take-home pay, fostering financial independence and resilience against volatile oil prices. Regarding representation, Novadaur is a minority-owned, single-founder initiative led by an immigrant from the Global South now living in a rural US community. This lived experience grounds our strategy in the actual cultural and economic realities of our target markets. Furthermore, while the core team is small, we actively prioritize contracting with developers and technical partners based in the Global South (including India and Africa), ensuring that our organizational growth creates high-value technical employment within the very regions we serve.
