Project Summary / Description:

The Trenggalek Blue Carbon Hub is a community-driven conservation initiative led by MPC Pancer Cengkrong that focuses on the restoration and protection of critical mangrove ecosystems in the southern coast of East Java. Our project employs an integrated approach: professional nursery management, systematic reforestation, and 'smart' monitoring using local expertise. Beyond sequestration, we stabilize the coastline against abrasion and enhance local livelihoods through sustainable ecotourism and non-timber forest products.

By transforming degraded coastal areas into thriving blue carbon sinks, we provide a scalable model for coastal climate resilience. Currently, we manage a significant restoration area that serves as a vital habitat for local biodiversity and a massive carbon reservoir, directly contributing to Indonesia’s FOLU Net Sink 2030 targets.
