Project Summary / Description:
“Farm as a Financial Product” is a climate-finance innovation that transforms climate-smart, soil-less farms into investable, revenue-generating assets. Each farm is designed, installed, and operated by Jodoor, generating direct greenhouse gas reductions through: 60% reduction in chemical fertilizer use 48% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional farming Up to 90% water savings Up to 12× higher productivity per m² Up to 9 pesticide-free harvests annually Our farms are equipped with patented IoT-based climate control systems, which continuously monitor and regulate water, nutrients, temperature, and humidity. This ensures highly efficient, low-emission production and consistent crop quality. This initiative enables investors to fund scalable, low-emission farms while achieving predictable returns, creating a replicable model for sustainable food systems.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Jodoor actively empowers underrepresented groups through both its operations and organizational structure. Across our farms, we prioritize the inclusion of women, youth, and local communities: each hectare of hydroponic farm creates ~30 direct and 10 indirect jobs, with 80% of positions held by women and young people, providing stable income, skills development, and pathways into climate-smart agriculture. Our training programs equip employees with technical expertise in hydroponics, IoT monitoring, and sustainable resource management, building local capacity and fostering climate resilience. Within the organization, women and youth hold key leadership and operational roles, from finance and operations to R&D and project management, ensuring diverse perspectives guide strategic decisions. We also engage rural and peri-urban communities through awareness initiatives, hands-on training, and inclusion in our farm networks, allowing vulnerable populations to benefit directly from sustainable farming practices. By linking financial investment with social impact, the “Farm as a Financial Product” model provides underrepresented groups with access to modern agricultural technologies, professional mentorship, and employment opportunities, while simultaneously generating measurable environmental benefits. Through these approaches, Jodoor ensures that climate action is inclusive, equitable, and community-centered, empowering groups traditionally excluded from climate solutions to participate actively in the transition to sustainable food systems.
