Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project is intentionally designed to support groups that are often underrepresented in climate solutions, particularly women, youth, and climate-vulnerable smallholder farmers. High feed costs disproportionately affect these groups, limiting productivity and income. By providing affordable, locally produced animal feed, we reduce input costs and lower barriers to participation in livestock farming, especially for women and young farmers with limited capital.
The project also engages informal waste workers, small food businesses, and market actors whose livelihoods are often overlooked in formal climate initiatives. By creating value from organic waste, we generate new income opportunities and promote safer, more sustainable waste handling practices.
Representation is embedded within the organization’s leadership and operations. The co-founder and operations lead is a woman, and day-to-day activities involve local youth in production, waste collection, and farmer engagement. Operating in a climate-vulnerable agricultural region, the project centers local knowledge and lived experience in decision-making. Through this approach, we aim to ensure that climate action is practical, inclusive, and rooted in the communities most affected by climate change.
