Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Kyuka Ventures is built around climate-vulnerable communities and intentionally shifts value and decision-making toward groups that are often excluded from climate solutions especially women, youth, and low-income urban households. We empower women and youth by creating paid, dignified green livelihoods in the plastic recovery chain through organized collection hubs, fair purchasing of plastic, safer working practices, and predictable income opportunities. Many of these collectors are women who face limited formal employment; by strengthening their role in the supply chain, we increase household resilience while reducing pollution.

We also empower climate-vulnerable families by making clean cooking accessible and affordable, replacing smoky charcoal and firewood that harm health and disproportionately burden women and children. Our model includes continuous community engagement and safety education to build trust, support behavior change, and ensure consistent LPG adoption.

Representation is embedded in our team and operations: our leadership and field implementation include women in key roles (community engagement, programs, and operations), and our frontline workforce and beneficiary networks are largely youth and women drawn from the same communities we serve. This ensures the solution is designed with not just for the people most affected by climate, health, and poverty impacts.
