Project Summary / Description:
EscarGrow™ is a modular, snail-powered system that converts food waste into compost, escargot, and climate education. Designed for underserved communities, each unit reduces methane emissions, produces soil and protein, and teaches STEM through hands-on learning. The project democratizes climate infrastructure by enabling local ownership, microenterprise, and regenerative agriculture at a hyperlocal scale.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
EscarGrow™ empowers Black, Brown, and women-led households to participate in the climate economy. Our founding team includes Black and Nigerian-American leaders. Title I school partners and women-led co-ops co-develop deployment. Youth are engaged through classroom pilots that center circular innovation.

Mission Statement:
Helical Healing Habitat builds regenerative infrastructure that is community-owned, climate-resilient, and biologically intelligent. Through systems like EscarGrow™, we revalue care labor, reduce emissions, and democratize access to circular economy tools; empowering under-resourced communities to lead in climate adaptation and ecological healing.
