How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Zerobionic empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement by combining social inclusion with climate action. Youth, particularly street-involved and marginalized young people, are employed to collect discarded plastics and tires, gaining stable income, technical skills, and exposure to sustainable, circular technologies. Deaf and hard-of-hearing students the primary beneficiaries of our assistive robotics receive equitable access to STEM and climate education, reaching those historically excluded from decision-making and learning spaces. We place special emphasis on disabled girls, recognizing the double marginalization they face, with our programs having already impacted over 120,000 learners. Our leadership and operational teams reflect these values: women hold executive roles in finance and legal compliance, youth drive technical innovation, and individuals with disabilities contribute to product design and testing. By embedding diversity into both workforce and user base, Zerobionic demonstrates that climate solutions can be inclusive, equitable, and socially transformative while reducing plastic pollution and promoting circular economies.
