Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Agpreneur ClimateShield primarily serves rural, climate-vulnerable farming communities that are often excluded from formal finance, insurance, and climate services. These farmers face the highest exposure to extreme heat while having the least access to protection or recovery capital.

Our pilot works with cooperatives such as Mom2Mom Farms Co-op, which includes a high proportion of women and youth farmers engaged in crop and fish production. By embedding insurance within input credit and delivering services through POS terminals and USSD, we remove barriers related to literacy, connectivity, and documentation. Farmers do not need smartphones, insurance knowledge, or upfront cash to participate.

Within our organization, leadership reflects lived experience in smallholder agriculture and rural markets. Our product design, pricing, and delivery are shaped directly by farmer feedback through cooperative structures. We intentionally prioritize inclusive onboarding, transparent payout rules, and community-level engagement to ensure underserved farmers are not only beneficiaries, but active participants in shaping the system that protects them.
