Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement primarily through impact and access. By converting industrial waste heat into reliable, local electricity, our technology supports decentralized energy systems that are particularly valuable for climate-vulnerable communities, including regions with weak or unstable grids. This is especially relevant for emerging markets, where access to affordable and dependable electricity directly enables economic participation, education, and healthcare – benefits that disproportionately support women, youth, and marginalized communities. Within our organization, we collaborate closely with students, early-career engineers, and researchers, providing hands-on experience in applied climate technology and hardware development. Several core technical contributions originated in academic theses, reflecting our commitment to empowering young talent and lowering barriers to entry into climate engineering careers. As we scale, we plan to deploy systems in regions such as Africa, where waste heat recovery can support local industries while reducing emissions and energy costs. We work with local implementation partners to build regional capacity, create skilled jobs, and ensure long-term ownership and knowledge transfer. Internally, we foster an inclusive, merit-based culture and are committed to building a diverse team as the company grows, recognizing that diverse perspectives are essential to solving complex climate challenges.
