Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our Jambo Radio project centers those most excluded from climate conversations:
1. Indigenous peoples (100% of beneficiaries):
All producers and listeners are Batwa, Luba, Lokele, Yira, communities managing Congo Basin forests for millennia yet excluded from climate policy. We don't speak for them, they speak for themselves.
2. Women (70% of trained producers):
In patriarchal village structures, women's voices are systematically suppressed despite bearing primary climate impacts (water scarcity, food insecurity). Our training prioritizes women. Result: Female producers now lead environmental advocacy in 15 villages, shifting gender power dynamics.
3. Youth (40% of producers, 60% of listening club participants):
Young people face bleak futures as extractivism destroys livelihoods. We train them as documentarians and advocates, transforming despair into agency. Youth-produced content resonates with peers, multiplying reach.

Representation in our organization:
- 2 of 3 core team members are women
- 2 of 3 are indigenous/local community members
-All staff speak local languages as mother tongues
-Decision-making through community advisory board (not top-down)

Mission Statement:

Amplifying voices of indigenous peoples in Congo Basin so that they become a force of resistance against extractivism specifically. Through the co-production of podcasts and the facilitation of listening clubs transformed into spaces for citizen debate, we are building a space where information becomes power, where marginalized people become storytellers.
