How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
SFS is women-led and works with climate-vulnerable rural communities who are underrepresented in climate finance despite being on the front line of land degradation. We design delivery around structures that enable inclusion VSLAs, cooperatives, and traditional governance so participation is not limited to the most connected households. We prioritise practical, locally delivered training and create early income pathways (e.g., beekeeping and other agroforestry products) so women and low-income farmers can sustain participation while trees mature. We also build youth skills through restoration work and digital monitoring support, creating local jobs and the next generation of land stewards. Within the organisation, leadership and key operational roles include women, and our programme model explicitly links restoration outcomes to transparent benefit-sharing to reduce exclusion and elite capture.
