Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

We actively empower groups that are often underrepresented in climate action particularly youth, women, rural communities and climate-vulnerable populations. Our model is designed within school and community settings where these groups are directly involved in decision-making, leadership and implementation. Through hands-on tree-planting, nursery management, climate education and environmental stewardship programs, we equip young people with practical skills, environmental knowledge and leadership opportunities that build long-term climate advocacy capacity.
Women play central role in our organizational leadership and activities. Our Chairperson is a female educator and women serve as key coordinators and trainers within participating institutions. This representation ensures gender-inclusive planning and creates visible role models for girls interested in environmental and STEM-related fields. The project also benefits rural communities who face the greatest environmental risks, providing them with access to seedlings, climate education and ecosystem restoration initiatives that support local resilience.
Youth representation is particularly strong, students participate in decision-making through organized environmental clubs, lead mobilization efforts, assist in tree nurseries and contribute to community outreach. By placing these groups at the forefront of planning and implementation, Evergreen fosters inclusivity, builds climate leadership from the grassroots and ensures that those most affected by climate change are central to the solutions.
