Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project is built around communities that are often left out of both the energy and climate conversation, including low-income households, informal workers, small business owners, rural families, and youth. Many of these users rely on diesel generators because they have few alternatives. By giving them access to clean, affordable, smart solar power, we are not only reducing emissions, but also improving livelihoods, safety, and economic stability. Women-led households and women-owned small businesses are a key focus, because energy insecurity often affects them most directly.

Within our organization, we are intentional about representation. Women hold leadership roles across operations, HR, and strategy, and young professionals are deeply involved in product development, innovation, and delivery. Our founder is African-born and leads the company from within the communities we serve, which grounds our work in lived experience rather than outside intervention.

We also mentor young innovators and entrepreneurs, helping them see climate technology as a space where they belong. For us, climate action is not abstract policy work. It is about giving real people access to tools that help them thrive, while making sure those same people help shape the solutions from the inside.
