Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project is built for the women and girls from low-income households, who are most affected by the lack of affordable resources in rural Kenya. We empower them by turning agricultural waste into an affordable alternative for them to fight period poverty. By upcycling corn stalks that would otherwise be burned, we protect the health of local farming families and provide women with a dignified, plastic-free product they can actually afford. This keeps girls in school and empowers women to evade sexual exploitation while providing them local jobs.
Inside our organization, our team is composed of local innovators and community members who understand the daily challenges of living in an underserved region. We also work closely with local NGOs to ensure that young Kenyan voices are leading our technical development. We hire locally and focus on community-led sales. We ensure that the people who have the most to lose from environmental degradation are the ones leading the change and enjoying the financial rewards.
