How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Empowering Climate Vulnerable Communities Our work in West Africa directly serves climate vulnerable populations. Smallholder farmers and agricultural producers depend on functioning cold chains to preserve harvests and access markets. When cold storage fails due to power outages, food spoils and livelihoods suffer. By improving cold chain reliability, we protect farmer incomes and strengthen food security for rural communities that are disproportionately impacted by climate change. Accessible Employment Opportunities Our solution is designed for rapid, non-electrical installation. Thermal energy storage is placed on shelves and sensors are simply positioned in rooms, requiring no specialist qualifications. This creates employment opportunities for local workers without extensive training, lowering barriers to participation in the clean energy economy, especially with youth at the forefront.
