How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
GeoWaste shifts power to the youth of the Niger Delta, a region synonymous with climate vulnerability yet often excluded from high-level decision-making. We do not just consult these groups; we employ them as our primary intelligence network. Our core team of 30 "Citizen Scientists" is composed entirely of local youth (under 30) from low-income neighbourhoods. They are trained to use GIS tools to audit government performance, turning them from passive victims of flooding into active enforcers of resilience. By equipping them with the high-fidelity data to prove exactly where service delivery is failing, we give them the leverage to demand accountability from municipal authorities. This transforms the power dynamic from opacity to transparency. Internally, our organization mirrors this demographic. Our entire leadership team, including myself and our CTO, are under 25. This ensures that our strategy is driven by those who will actually inherit the consequences of today's climate failures, giving a platform to voices that are usually drowned out by older, bureaucratic structures.
Mission Statement:
To drive systemic climate resilience in African cities by transforming waste management from a chaotic pollutant into a precision utility. Our mission is to utilise AI and spatial data to eliminate inefficiencies in municipal logistics, thereby achieving measurable reductions in fleet CO2 emissions and preventing the uncontrolled release of methane.
