How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
1. Directly Serving Climate-Vulnerable & Displaced Populations: We restore energy access in refugee camps and remote host communities—groups disproportionately impacted by climate change but often excluded from climate planning. Our system ensures equitable electricity distribution, reducing tensions and giving families control over their energy use. 2. Prioritizing Women & Youth: Women make up 24% of training participants and are engaged as community liaisons, building local leadership in energy management. Children represent 60% of direct beneficiaries, ensuring the next generation grows up with clean, efficient energy habits. 3. Inclusive Employment & Design: We’ve created 25 local jobs in installation and support—roles filled primarily by Jordanian and refugee youth. Our user interface was co-designed with low-literacy users, ensuring accessibility. Within Our Organization: Our 27-person team is 97% under 35, reflecting youth leadership. We maintain a 3:2 female-to-male ratio and prioritize hiring from local and refugee backgrounds. Our field coordinators often come from the communities we serve, ensuring authentic representation and trust. This embedded, human-centered approach ensures climate action advances justice, accessibility, and representation—not just emission reductions.
