Kubik is intentionally designed as a women-first climate enterprise, operating in communities that are both climate-vulnerable and historically excluded from formal economic systems. The project centers on women waste pickers, who are often marginalized, informal, and exposed to environmental and health risks despite being critical actors in urban waste systems.

Kubik formalizes women-led waste collection through long-term municipal partnerships, providing stable demand, safer working conditions, predictable income, and access to training and protective equipment. As RDF production scales, women move from informal waste picking into higher-value roles across sorting, aggregation, quality control, and site operations, directly linking climate mitigation to improved livelihoods.

Women are also represented across Kubik’s organization, including in leadership, product, operations, and supply chain management roles. This representation ensures that decisions around sourcing, pricing, safety, and scale reflect lived experience rather than extractive models.

By anchoring industrial decarbonization to women-led waste supply chains, Kubik demonstrates how climate infrastructure can deliver emissions reductions while redistributing economic value to those most affected by climate and urban environmental stress.
