Project Summary / Description:
The Grawindy initiative focuses on developing and deploying a non-rotational, modular wind energy system specifically designed for agricultural applications. By enabling reliable on-site clean energy generation in diverse wind conditions, the system reduces farmers’ dependence on fossil fuels, lowers operating costs, and significantly contributes to carbon emission reduction in rural and agricultural regions.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Grawindy empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement primarily through its focus on accessible, low-cost renewable energy solutions tailored for agriculture and rural communities, many of which are climate-vulnerable. Our innovative wind-gravity technology operates efficiently in low wind speeds (starting at 3 m/s) and uses 99-100% recyclable materials, enabling small-scale farmers, food producers, and greenhouse operators—often in developing or emerging regions like Turkey and similar contexts—to generate affordable, on-site clean energy. This reduces energy costs, dependence on fossil fuels, and vulnerability to climate impacts such as extreme weather affecting agricultural yields. By lowering barriers to renewable adoption (no need for high winds or complex site assessments), we particularly benefit climate-vulnerable rural and agricultural communities, including those led by or comprising women and youth in farming, who are disproportionately affected by climate change.

Mission Statement:
Grawindy’s mission is to democratize clean energy through modular, non-rotational wind technology operating reliably across diverse wind conditions. We deliver low-impact, scalable solutions for agriculture, remote communities, and hybrid systems, extending production time, improving land efficiency, and accelerating the global transition to resilient, carbon-neutral power.
