Project Summary / Description:
The Smart Green Energy & Climate-Resilient Ecosystems Initiative deploys AIoT-enabled renewable energy systems, electric fleet telematics, and autonomous drones to reduce CO₂ emissions, restore ecosystems, and enhance climate resilience. Currently operational across schools, health facilities, cities, and industries in Africa, it delivers measurable environmental impact while empowering communities and enabling sustainable development.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project intentionally empowers underrepresented groups, including youth, women, and climate-vulnerable communities, by placing them at the center of both implementation and decision-making. In our operations, we prioritize local hiring and capacity building, training community members—especially young women and youth—in AIoT systems, renewable energy maintenance, and ecosystem restoration practices. This creates skills development, green jobs, and leadership opportunities for groups often excluded from the climate and technology sectors. Within our organization, women hold key leadership roles, including our Head of Technology & AIoT Systems and Sustainability & Climate Impact Lead, ensuring that diverse perspectives shape strategic and technical decisions. Youth representation is embedded across project management, technical teams, and community engagement, reflecting our commitment to youth-led innovation and empowerment. Our initiatives focus on climate-vulnerable communities, such as rural schools, health facilities, and low-income urban neighborhoods, where energy access, mobility, and environmental resilience are limited. By providing clean energy, smart mobility solutions, and ecosystem restoration programs, we reduce exposure to climate risks while enabling local stakeholders to actively participate in mitigation and adaptation strategies.
