How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
ByoMax’s project contributes to a more inclusive climate transition by creating skilled employment and economic opportunity in regions where climate vulnerability and underrepresentation are often highest. The project is implemented in Southeast Asia and Oceania, where agricultural and forestry residues are sourced from rural and regional communities that are frequently excluded from clean-technology value chains. By establishing local processing facilities, the project supports job creation, skills development, and more resilient local economies. Within the organisation, ByoMax emphasises inclusive recruitment and team development across technical, operational, and commercial roles. The team includes members from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, reflecting the regions in which the project operates. ByoMax actively engages local partners, suppliers, and contractors to build local capability and ensure knowledge transfer during commissioning and operation. In addition, the project provides opportunities for early-career engineers, technicians, and analysts to gain experience in industrial decarbonisation through hands-on deployment and scale-up activities. As the project grows, ByoMax intends to further expand participation through structured training, internships, and partnerships that support underrepresented groups in the climate and clean-energy workforce.
