Project Summary / Description:

Our initiative is to develop a dedicated Polypropylene (PP) plastic recycling production line, specifically for transparent PP plastic cups (single use beverage cups), with an output capacity of 500 kg per hour. Strategically located in Tangerang, Banten, the facility will process post-consumer plastic waste into premium quality PP flakes. A Hot Wash process will be applied to effectively remove organic contaminants, adhesives, and odors, ensuring superior material quality. The end product - rPP flakes - will then be utilized by our customers for the production of rPP packaging to meet mandatory recycled content laws in Indonesia and abroad, thereby reducing the need for virgin PP production and further fossil fuel extraction.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our circular-economy model intentionally integrates historically underrepresented and climate-vulnerable groups - notably informal waste collectors, coastal community members, women, and youth - as principal supply-chain partners. We formalise relationships with over a thousand informal collectors through collection centres and purchase agreements that provide stable demand and fair pricing, reducing income volatility for households that rely on waste collection. Our CSR and capacity-building activities include targeted vocational and safety training (including programmes for youth), distribution of personal protective equipment, and community support after local shocks, which improve workplace safety and economic resilience. Women are engaged both within collection networks and in plant-level roles; we prioritise female participation in trainings and community outreach to strengthen gender inclusion. Governance and stakeholder consultation processes include representation from community groups and worker associations to ensure their perspectives shape operational decisions. By converting marginal informal work into formal, traceable livelihoods linked to certified recycled output, the project advances economic empowerment, creates dignified jobs, and elevates voices of groups often excluded from mainstream climate policy and finance.
