Project Summary / Description:

The project is a multi-state clean-fuels education and demonstration tour that brings together policymakers, agencies, community organizations, and industry to see practical, near-term decarbonization solutions in real-world settings. Through workshops, facility visits, and targeted outreach, it increases awareness of renewable liquid fuels for hard-to-electrify sectors—supporting cleaner air, measurable emissions reductions, and stronger regional collaboration.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project empowers underrepresented and climate-vulnerable communities by focusing on immediate, practical emissions reductions in the places where harm is most concentrated. Diesel exhaust and heating-oil pollution disproportionately affect people living in dense urban areas and near highways, freight corridors, ports, warehouses, and bus depots—often lower-income communities. By accelerating biodiesel use in existing diesel applications, the project reduces greenhouse gases and mobile-source air toxics now, improving air quality for those who breathe the highest burdens first.
The project also recognizes “underrepresented” impacts beyond geography. Service members and frontline workers are often placed in harm’s way protecting or securing petroleum supply lines; reducing petroleum dependence strengthens energy security and can reduce exposure to those risks.
We intentionally broaden climate participation by convening a diverse stakeholder base—environmental justice organizations, public health voices, community leaders, transit and municipal fleet managers, farmers and rural communities, and workforce partners—alongside policymakers and industry. Our workshops and site visits are designed to be accessible, solutions-focused, and grounded in real-world outcomes, helping communities advocate effectively for cleaner air, lower costs, and resilient local economies. Biodiesel continues to save farms, lives, taxes, and money at the pump —one more gallon at a time.
