"Ampere My Home" is a community-driven initiative by Women Who Charge (WWC) designed to dismantle financial and structural barriers to clean transportation. By leveraging 150 donated Level 2 Tesla chargers and a partnership with licensed electricians (EZ-EV), we provide free home charging infrastructure and professional installation to low-income households across the Denver-Boulder metro area.

WWC is a Black-woman-led organization mirroring the communities it serves. Our Board of Directors is composed entirely of women from diverse backgrounds, ensuring strategic decisions are rooted in lived experience.

We empower underrepresented groups through:

Leadership: Women and people of color lead our staff and advisory committees.

Economic Stabilization: Low-income women currently face aggressive headwinds from federal cuts to childcare, SNAP, and EV rebates. By providing free home infrastructure, we remove the "luxury" barrier to EV ownership and drastically reduce transportation costs as other safety nets are withdrawn.

Workforce Equity: Our youth and gender-focused programs ensure marginalized groups are active leaders, not just consumers, of the clean energy transition.
Project Impact & Community-Centered Approach

The core purpose of this project is to dismantle barriers to clean transportation for the most impacted residents throughout the Denver metro area, including Boulder County. By providing free EV charging infrastructure and installation, we address environmental justice issues and reduce localized air pollution that disproportionately affects low-income communities.

This project is designed to benefit frontline communities directly. The donated charging stations will be installed in homes for low-wage-earning households, providing a no-cost alternative to expensive utility programs.
