Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

We specifically support the two following underrepresented groups - Women and Rural communities - via our project:
- Slight majority of smallholders in Indonesia are women
- Since our entire biochar operations is focused on the soil application and primarily with smallholders, the benefits of these activities are largely reaped by women
- Additionally, we engage with local farmer communities that are typically women-led
- We also employ people in rural areas e.g. operators at biochar production facilities, female farmers for farmers outreach etc. When it comes to diversity in our own organization (full-time team) ~95% are native Indonesians, Indians or Filipinos (only 1 is European). Additionally, majority of the employees are aged 25-35 years. Women comprise 25% of the team but we are engineering-heavy organization and there are very few female mechanical and electrical engineers in the countries we operate.
