How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project is intentionally designed to empower underrepresented and climate-vulnerable groups as leaders, operators, and long-term beneficiaries of climate solutions. The core model centers on locally co-owned restoration business units that embed advanced drone-based restoration technology directly within Indigenous, rural, and underserved communities in Peru and across the region. Indigenous communities, including members of the Harakbut people, play a central role in decision-making, particularly in land selection, species choice, and restoration design. This ensures that projects reflect generational ecological knowledge while protecting cultural heritage and biodiversity. Women are actively engaged across seed collection, seedball manufacturing, nursery coordination, monitoring, and governance roles—creating stable income opportunities and leadership pathways in regions where economic options are limited. Youth and veterans are trained as drone pilots, technicians, data collectors, and field operators, equipping them with future-ready technical skills and meaningful employment in climate technology. By enabling these groups to access carbon and biodiversity markets through VCS, CCB, and SD-Vista certification, the project delivers long-term economic empowerment, poverty alleviation, and financial inclusion. The project improves soil health, air quality, and ecosystem resilience, strengthening food systems and livelihoods. Underrepresented groups are fully represented within the organization as co-owners, employees, and decision-makers, ensuring financial and social uplift.
