Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
RecyGlo and the Sana Terra project empower groups historically marginalized in the climate movement by centering operations within the climate-vulnerable communities of the Greater Mekong and broader Southeast Asia. To date, we have created over 200 green jobs and provided high-quality bio-organic fertilizer (frass) to smallholder farmers, enabling them to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilizers by 30% to 50%. Looking ahead, we are committed to scaling this impact to create 2,000 green jobs by 2035. This mission is driven by an organization that reflects those it serves, led by female serial entrepreneur Shwe Yamin Oo as Co-Founder and CEO. Our leadership team—including Co-Founders Okka Phyo Maung and Shwe Yamin Oo—is entirely composed of local experts, ensuring that our methane mitigation strategies remain culturally resonant and economically transformative for the region. Through our dedicated platform, SheWorks (www.sheworks.info), we further extend our commitment to empowering underrepresented groups by providing specialized training and entrepreneurship opportunities for local women. This initiative bridges the gender gap in the climate and agricultural sectors by offering hands-on workshops in sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and composting, specifically designed to help women reduce farming costs and improve productivity through eco-friendly practices.
