Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Accurate, reliable, and quantifiable measurements of methane will help disadvantaged communities located near methane emission sources have the evidence needed to fight those emissions. We were awarded but waiting to receive funds from a DOE grant to calibrate a remote sensing campaign for methane detection of oil and gas industry leaks on First Nations lands. Both polluters in waste (landfills) and agriculture (feedlots, hog farms, etc.) are often located in or near disadvantaged communities. Being able to accurately quantify the amounts of methane (as well as other pollutants) helps prove that mitigation is needed and provides insights into the best way to achieve the reduction of emissions. Condor’s CalBridge System allows remote sensing to provide accurate, quantified measurements of methane clouds that are impacting people, animals, and surrounding areas. This gives reliable proof of the magnitude of the problem.

Mission Statement:
Condor’s licensed technology provides calibration as a service to verify that remote sensing of methane is meeting the standards necessary to ensure mitigation solutions for food and waste systems. We validate optical sensors for methane detection calibration and support reflective, emissive, and laser-based optical approaches.
