Project Summary / Description:

This initiative conducts a structured comparative evaluation of emerging methane mitigation technologies, examining both source-based strategies (e.g., anaerobic digestion, improved rice water management) and atmospheric removal approaches. Technologies are assessed for efficiency, scalability, cost, maturity, and environmental risk to identify the most feasible interventions for regional deployment and climate stabilization.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

This project actively prioritizes the inclusion and empowerment of underrepresented groups in climate action. In target regions, women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities often bear the greatest burden of methane-related environmental and health impacts, yet have limited access to decision-making and technology adoption opportunities. The initiative addresses this by engaging these groups in data collection, pilot implementation, and community consultations, ensuring their perspectives inform intervention design and deployment strategies.

Women and youth are specifically involved as local research assistants, farmers, and technology operators, providing hands-on experience and capacity-building opportunities. Training workshops and participatory approaches are designed to enhance their technical skills, increase climate literacy, and strengthen leadership in local climate governance.

As an individual-led initiative, I am committed to equitable stakeholder representation, ensuring that recommendations reflect the needs and knowledge of marginalized populations. This approach not only improves adoption of mitigation strategies but also builds local ownership, fosters inclusive climate action, and amplifies the voices of those most affected by methane emissions.

By embedding equity and participation at every stage, the project contributes to a more inclusive climate movement while delivering scalable and sustainable methane mitigation solutions that benefit both the environment and vulnerable communities.
