Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

ECOWRAP actively empowers underrepresented groups, particularly informal waste workers, women, and rural communities. The waste sector in India is largely driven by informal labor working in unsafe conditions. ECOWRAP formalizes these workers into structured employment, providing stable incomes, safer environments, protective equipment, and social security benefits, improving dignity and livelihood security.
The organization also promotes women-led livelihood opportunities through upcycling initiatives, enabling women to earn income and gain economic independence. Currently, women are actively engaged in these programs.
Additionally, ECOWRAP works in small villages in collaboration with gram panchayats, employing local and underprivileged community members, creating decentralized livelihood opportunities.
