Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Feco Exporting places climate-vulnerable smallholder farmers at the center of our mitigation strategy. In Nigeria, women and youth are disproportionately affected by post-harvest loss, as they often lack the collateral to access formal credit or the capital to invest in protective storage. Empowerment through Inclusion: • Economic Resilience: By providing Marketing Credits without traditional land collateral, we empower women—who comprise roughly 70% of the agricultural labor force—to break the cycle of "distress selling." This ensures they capture the full market value of their labor. • Youth Engagement: Our project creates "Green Jobs" for rural youth by training them as Scientific Storage Lead Technicians, turning them into frontline climate advocates who manage our digital MRV tools. Representation in our Organization: We lead by example: 40% of our management team and 60% of our field officers are women or youth under the age of 35. Our field operations are designed around "Farmer Cooperatives," which are governed by the farmers themselves, ensuring that the most vulnerable voices directly influence our operational roadmap. This structure ensures our methane mitigation work is not just a technical fix, but a grassroots movement for economic justice.
Mission Statement:
To empower smallholder farmers through accessible marketing credit and hermetic storage technology, ensuring food security and climate resilience by preventing the organic decay of produce.
