Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Sixteen44 recognises that building a truly impactful climate company requires diverse perspectives at every level. As an early-stage startup, our founding team is currently three men, one of whom brings a Latin American perspective as a Colombian co-founder. We are candid about where we are: diversity of gender, background, and experience is a priority we are actively committed to as we grow, and future hiring will reflect this intentionally. On the impact side, Sixteen44's technology has meaningful potential to empower climate-vulnerable communities. Dilute methane emissions from agricultural operations, wastewater facilities, and industrial fugitive sources disproportionately affect lower-income and rural communities that bear the environmental burden of these sources with little recourse. By making methane abatement economically viable at small and distributed scales, Sixteen44 enables emissions reductions in settings previously considered too costly or complex to address. As the company scales, we are committed to ensuring that deployment prioritises high-impact, underserved communities, and that our team reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
