Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers smallholder and climate-vulnerable livestock farmers by turning methane mitigation into a direct economic opportunity rather than a compliance burden. The feed additive is designed to be low-cost and easily integrated into existing practices, requiring no additional infrastructure or behavioral change. By improving rumen efficiency, the solution has the potential to enhance feed utilization, which can translate into better productivity and reduced feed costs—a critical benefit for resource-constrained farmers. More importantly, by enabling quantifiable methane reductions, the project creates a pathway for farmers to participate in carbon markets, unlocking new income streams that have historically been inaccessible to them. This is particularly impactful for women and youth, who are often heavily involved in livestock management but have limited access to formal climate finance. By integrating farmers into climate value chains, the project shifts them from passive stakeholders to active participants in climate solutions. Within our organization and partnerships, we prioritize engagement with local farmer networks, cooperatives, and grassroots actors, ensuring that adoption is inclusive and benefits are widely distributed. As we scale, our focus is on maximizing income uplift per animal, making climate action both viable and rewarding at the farm level.
