Each team member carries personal experience of the socioeconomic disparities that inefficient, expensive transportation systems perpetuate in developing economies—the same economies where methane leakage from fossil-fuel infrastructure disproportionately harms vulnerable communities.
ATK’s macroeconomic modeling demonstrates that our propulsion platform could reduce transportation costs by 8–12.5% in low- and medium-income economies, with the largest efficiency gains (up to 28.6%) accruing in developing-world mega-cities. These are precisely the communities—women, youth, rural populations, climate-vulnerable urban residents—that bear the highest burden of both transportation poverty and methane-related air quality degradation.
By decoupling mobility from expensive, centralized fossil-fuel infrastructure, ATK enables decentralized, zero-emission transportation accessible to developing nations. Our ecosystem approach—providing the propulsion platform while partners develop end-use vehicles—ensures that benefits are distributed broadly rather than captured by a single manufacturer in a single market.
