Mati Carbon’s operates with climate vulnerable smallholder farmers of the Global South. Mati typically works in remote and neglected areas and our farmer partners on average earn <$1200 annually. ‍Mati program has evolved specifically with the needs of such farmers in mind. The farmer is not burdened by any costs, including transport and spreading in their fields making it completely free for them. Furthermore, numerous awareness and education sessions are held to help alleviate any farmer concerns prior, during and post deployments. Mati is also developing additional solutions to further improve farmer productivity, reduce input costs, and provide insurance to enable climate resiliency for these most climate vulnerable people.
At Mati we currently have 35 full time employees with varied backgrounds. About 27 of these jobs are in rural areas, where usually extremely few opportunities are available. We also create about 50 indirect jobs in logistics, transportation and field operations. We partner with rural women self help groups on ad hoc basis for operational support.
